How to Develop the Main DPS, Aschetius

时间:2023-12-26 16:26:43  来源:  作者:SQUID (鱿鱼)
Hello, my name is SQUID. I am here to share a guide on how to develop Aschetius, the greatest hero in this patch!

I. About Hero

First of all, I'll walk you through the skills of this hero.

II. Recommended Lineup

From the skill description, we can see that Aschetius is a hero who deals burst damage by triggering DoT ticks but needs allies to help him stack debuffs. So, you can build a team with a main tank, two fast-attacking support DPS, and a healer. Alternatively, you can go with a team with a main tank, two DPS, and two supports.

1. Main Tank
First, let's talk about the main tank. Your go-to choice is Khrysos.

These are the three main tanks for a Burn team that I personally recommend, but these are all legendary heroes, which can be hard to acquire. Next, I'll present you with some alternatives.

And I know what you are thinking. "But SQUID, what if I have none of these epic or legendary heroes?" Worry not because I have just the solution for you.

These are the main tank heroes I recommend. Next up, we'll talk about which support DPS heroes synergize with Aschetius the best.

2. DPS

What I mean by "support DPS" isn't just the "support" type of heroes that we know but also specifically heroes that can stack Burn DoT effects quickly enough for Aschetius to use his ultimate skill and rain down destructions!
I recommend two legendary heroes, Karf and Durem.

I tested this against the Dummy in the Camp, and when dealing with a single enemy, we can safely inflict about 5 stacks of Burn DoT before Aschetius uses his first ultimate skill and always inflict more than 9 stacks of Burn DoT before his second ultimate skill. When dealing with 4 minions at the same time, we can inflict 1 to 4 stacks of Burn DoT before Aschetius uses his first ultimate skill and generally 4 stacks of Burn DoT before his second ultimate skill. Whether you can take out some of the minions after his first ultimate skill is key. When there are fewer minions alive, your tanks and healers will have a much easier time handling the combat.

For epic DPS heroes, I recommend Lyle, who synergizes with Aschetius perfectly when clearing stages.

For heroes of this rarity, I recommend Beags and Percival.

3. Support Heroes
For legendary heroes, I recommend Torrin.

III. Equipment

In this part of the article, I'll focus on the equipment choices for Aschetius and some statistical results tested on a Dummy. As for other heroes on the team, I will also provide some ideas and suggestions. The examples below are based on level 90:

Equipment: Aschetius uses the Assassin Set and Barbarian Set, and the set effects can add Enlightenment and Crit, respectively. As for other attributes, their priority order is ATK > Crit Damage > Crit Rate > Enlightenment > Attack Speed > Skill Haste.
This is because Aschetius heavily relies on his ultimate skill. Though this information isn't provided in the game, my test result shows that Aschetius' ultimate skill takes up 70% of the damage output. Plus, his ultimate skill is associated with ATK and Crit Damage, which makes these two attributes all the more important.
Artifacts: If available, you should always go with the exclusive Artifact. If not, let's go with the Eyeball of the Giant, which is pretty good considering it increases the ultimate skill damage.

Against Single Targets: I tested this on a Lv.90 Dummy for 60 seconds and concluded that the difference between the two is insignificant. With the Eyeball of the Giant, the damage is more stable and generally falls around 80k. As for the exclusive Artifact, the variance in damage output given a short amount of time can range between 80k and 110k damage. Each stack of Burn DoT on the enemy can significantly raise Aschetius' damage output, especially against multiple minions.

My test result shows that, given the same team configuration and amount of time, the damage dealt by these two Artifacts can vary by as much as two times, which is why you should always get the exclusive Artifact if you have the chance. Aschetius is such a wonderful DPS!

Next, let's talk about the equipment configurations for other heroes.
Here's what I think. So long as the tank can inflict debuffs on enemies, the standard configuration is Deer Herder + Granite. As for the secondary attributes, you can focus on HP and DEF. As for Accuracy, so long as you make it beyond a boss's Resistance, it will do. For example, if a boss has 150 Resistance, you'll need 150 Accuracy, or your debuffs will likely fail to register.

For DPS heroes, if a hero needs higher Attack Speed (e.g., Beags' basic attacks can inflict Burn DoT), you can give them a Predator set to raise the Attack Speed and stack more Burn DoT, but remember their job is still to support Aschetius, which is why you can go with either Assassin or Barbarian for the other set.
On the other hand, if you don't need extra Attack Speed, you should prioritize using the Assassin and Barbarian sets and prioritize ATK and Enlightenment or HP as your attributes because heroes of this rarity usually lack good attributes, which won't hold under heavy enemy fire such as the lightning AoE coming from Elzroneus. From that perspective, it is okay to just raise these heroes' HP and let them support Aschetius.

Support: If these heroes can inflict debuffs on enemies, you should also go with Deer Herder + Granite or Granite + Swift Shadow for a little extra Skill Haste because it's always good news to use one more skill within the same amount of time. As for attributes, prioritize HP and DEF. The most important thing is how to keep the supports alive. Don't worry about their damage output.

I know that this is a bit too much to handle, which is why I'll attach a table below for your convenient reference.

IV. Development Paths and Stage Clearing/Boss Fight Tests

When it comes to developing heroes, their levels are your number one concern. Then, start clearing stages from the easiest bosses. When spending Stamina, start from Lv.2 Goblin Camp Lv.90 minions > Frost Domain > Tempest Domain.
Here, I'll test the most ordinary lineup. In other words, if even this lineup can achieve good results, you can safely replace the heroes with any other alternatives that are of the same type but more powerful.
The equipment for Aschetius is the Eyeball of the Giant, the Assassin + Barbarian sets, and ATK as the main attribute for Runes.
Let's start with the Goblin Lair. Everyone's equipment is of the blue rarity, and better pieces will be given to them one by one after defeating the bosses. First, we arrive at a Lv.90 Goblin Lair.

Use the skill cards manually, and that's instantly a three-star result. This is incredible!
Then, we proceed to a Lv.95 Grave of Venom.

   That's no problem at all!
Now that we've got Grave of Venom out of the way, let's give the purple equipment to our DPS heroes!

Okay. The Blood Prince has been taken care of. It was a close call, but we had our purple equipment! Now, time to give the Granite set to our main tank and head for our next stop, the Grave of Rot!

It was a bit of a challenge as we lost three heroes. If we had Fitz as the main tank, it would've been a walk in the park because all the debuffs coming from the boss would be neutralized.
Alright. Now that we've dealt with the three equipment bosses, time for the two domain bosses. First, let's go to the Frost Domain!

Though it took us 2 attempts, we did it in the end. When fighting this boss, make sure to save your burst damage for when the boss gains shields. Otherwise, once the boss has started the combo, your healers will have a hard time catching up to the tempo.
        Lastly, it's the Tempest Domain.

I tried this many times using the original lineup but to no avail, because the boss deals massive AoE damage too fast, and the team has no means of dispelling and mediocre healing. So, I replaced Beags (back-row hero) with Zhar'loth. If you don't want to grind your way through this, you can lower the bar and take on a Lv.70 challenge instead, although you will get fewer Crystals this way.

Alright. That's about it for this test. You now know the lineup and equipment configurations, and you can always refer to the tables included in this article. More guides on boss fights, the Fey Meander, and Sea Deity will be available in the future, so stay tuned!
