Guide - Season 2 Necrotic Death Battle Retold on [Difficulty II]
Once you've reached Lv.35 and cleared the previous difficulty of Necrotic Death Battle Retold, you can unlock Difficulty II.
This difficulty level offers better rewards but demands greater survivability and AoE damage output from heroes. You'll need adequate stats and equipment to succeed. This guide focuses on how to clear this difficulty level with a less-developed lineup comprised of easily obtainable rare/epic heroes. |
I. Configurations and Preparations
Configurations
● Recommended Level
You can play the stage when the overall level of your team is about 90, with the difference being ① the strength of the heroes on your team, ② the quality and Refinements of your equipment, and ③ the countering attributes of your lineup or individual heroes.
● Equipment Requirements
Try to equip all heroes with epic four-piece equipment at max Refinements (+16). The equipment can be adjusted according to the team's overall hero strength and levels.
● Key Attributes
Tank heroes should have over 80,000 HP and over 2,000 DEF.
The debuff heroes should have over 220 Accuracy.
If you're planning on neutralizing the control effect of the boss's third skill by building Resistance, you should aim for over 240 Resistance for your heroes.
[Battle Preparation]
● Food Improvement
Given the survival challenges at this difficulty level, we recommend you use [Aquitaine Meat Pie], which is made of Elf Wheat ×2 and Wild Boar Meat ×1. It can give you +10% HP and +5% ATK for 600 seconds.
● Artifact Selection
Prioritize equipping high-Accuracy debuff heroes with Crown of the Unclean or Witch's Remains to inflict Defense Penalty on the Boss. This will help you clear the difficulty level faster.
● Boss Skills and Counter Strategies
II. Recommended Lineups and Positioning
Lineup 1
Lineup: Garius, Catherine, Gulal, Usha, Rava
Positioning Reference:
As shown in the image, we position the lineup so that Gulal and Catherine will tank the attacks coming from the Summoned Units. This will ensure the survivability of our DPS heroes while keeping the distance from the last row to prevent the explosion damage dealt by the Queen's second type of Summoned Unit upon their death.
Recommended Legendary Heroes:
Lineup 2
Lineup: Frurbath + Heksandra + Sigrid + Corrin + Horace
Positioning Reference:
As shown in the image, we position the lineup so that Frurbath and Sigrid can keep the enemies inflicted with Attack Penalty throughout the fight, and the team can more quickly eliminate all the Summoned Units. This will help you clear the stage more reliably when your heroes aren't that well-developed yet.

III. Examples
*Here, we'll give an example of lineup #1 where the heroes are all equipped with rare/epic equipment at max Refinements (+16). You can substitute them with various high-quality heroes based on your own needs, and the overall strength can easily go much higher.
● Team Aura
Here, we go with Rava's Crit Damage Aura to more quickly eliminate the Summoned Units and the boss.
● Positioning
Put most of the heroes on the front row and ensure that the healing skills can cover all allies.
● Between the first skill and the second skill:
1. Rava uses his ultimate skill on all the Summoned Units. After the Summoned Units are inflicted with Frost and Defense Penalty, use Usha's ultimate skill to clear out two of them.
2. Use Gulal's ultimate skill to inflict Attack Penalty on the boss to reduce the AoE damage done by the boss's second skill.
3. You can use Catherine's ultimate skill to recover allies. After the boss uses their second skill, follow up with Garius' ultimate skill.
●Between the third skill and the fourth skill:
1. Before the boss uses their fourth skill, use Gulal's ultimate skill to inflict Attack Penalty.
2. Use the ultimate skill of Garius/Catherine to fully replenish HP before taking the incoming attack.
3. Use Rava's ultimate skill to clear out the Summoned Units on the other side.
● Other phases:
1. The other two skills aren't that difficult to handle. Just make sure you prioritize killing the Summoned Units and save your key skills for when the situation calls for it.
2. When you are about to lose allies or struggle to kill all the Summoned Units, use the Control Skill to try and save them.
When I tested this lineup, there was still quite some time left when I finished the fight. The tank has plenty enough survivability, and the DPS heroes are almost free of real threats.
If your heroes are well-developed, none of your heroes will die to the boss's last skill. In this case, you can replace Gulal with another DPS hero to clear the stage even faster. As you deploy more powerful heroes, the level/gear requirement will drop.
