Things to Pay Attention(S2)

时间:2023-12-13 15:38:21  来源:  作者:
Hello, dear Travelers, and welcome to Season 2! This time, you'll find a brand new sandbox, a new storyline, new Kinsfolk hero builds, and new Equipment Artifacts... All sorts of new surprises await you to discover them. So, at the start of the season, what are the things you should pay special attention to? This article will break it down for you one by one.

I. Understand the Core Content of the New Season

[New Sandbox and Storyline]

The Aethercairn region is unlocked, along with the brand new season storyline Fall of Increscent. Here, you'll engage in a series of stories with the Sheen Elves and Wood Elves. Embark on a journey in the nautical gameplay, hunt for deserted island treasures, and tap into marine mysteries. The subsequent main storyline will also unlock the diving system for you, taking you deep into the ocean to explore the Merfolk's homeland and the secrets of the Two Towers. The distinctive Two Towers mirror mechanic adds a unique twist to this season's main storyline.

[Elemental Affinity Rotation]

Entering Season 2, the new Elemental Affinity groups are: Fire & Necrosis - Power of Scorching; Ice & Radiance - Power of Clarity; Lightning & Poison - Power of Corruption.

Perhaps you've already grown accustomed to the Elemental Affinity relationships of Season 1, and you've mastered the combination of heroes within each Affinity group. But in the new season, we hope Travelers will have a fresh gaming experience, and this requires you to quickly adapt to the new content, temporarily setting aside what you learned from the last season.

[New Hero Builds, Equipment Artifacts]

In the new season, the Fire, Ice, and Lightning elements have each introduced new output build as well as new heroes associated with those builds. The Necrosis, Radiance, and Poison elements have added some defensive and support heroes.

Regarding Equipment: While the Heart of the Gambler, Ancestral Protection, and Holy Hunter Legendary Sets (with slight tweaks to their effects) are here to stay, there will also be five new sets joining the ranks. Some have new effects, while others are remixes of existing set effects. You'll need to familiarize yourself with these in advance.
*For detailed content, please refer to the complete seasonal patch note.

[New Challenges]

In season 2, not only are there new main storylines and challenges (the Fey Meander has introduced new Bosses, new seasonal instances, and collaboration adventures that will become available at a later date), but the existing Dungeon Bosses have also undergone in-game mechanic changes. Travelers will need to delve deeper into their strategies.

II. Must-Dos in the New Season

[Seasonal Settlement & New Storylines]

Upon entering the new season, you'll first receive your S1 rank rewards and legacy items in the Chaos Universum, and review your achievements from the last season. Afterward, you can complete the starting storyline, return to the Material Plane, and get teleported by Penultima to Aethercairn, where a new story begins.

[Make the Most of Your Legacy Resources]

With the Pure Sandcore obtained from the S1 settlement rewards, you can exchange for various rare items in the Season Shop. Don't forget to use them first.
In the new season, in addition to retaining access to heroes and Artifacts, each Traveler will get to keep a certain proportion of their Essence of Creation. Once you level up your heroes and unlock the Artifact system, Artifacts of high refinement levels will significantly aid you along your pioneering journey.

[Summon Heroes—Two Benefit Pools]

Before starting your adventure, you can use your Summon Dice to draw new heroes—the S1 season settlement pool Forthfaring Summons and the S2 limited pool Odyssey Featured Summons can both help you quickly acquire the heroes newly added in S2.

III. Early Season Hero Development

[Hero Development Planning]

In the new season, the resources are limited in the beginning. Clearing the main story content as quickly as possible and challenging more Dungeon instances will be the top priority for each traveler. At the same time, you must take into consideration the early-game Elemental Domain instances, mid-game Pillar of Trial, seasonal challenges, and late-game Otherworld exploration gameplay.
Therefore, a good thought process on the order of hero development will largely determine your game progress. Here is a relatively reasonable development thought process for your reference:
  1. Early Game: Develop a 3-character Affinity team to complete early main story content and various early-game instances;
  1. Early Game: Develop two 3-character Affinity teams mainly for dealing with Elemental Domain instances and raising the hero improvement efficiency;
  1. Early-mid Game: Develop a 5-character Affinity team to enhance the strength of single teams to complete mid-early high-difficulty challenges and ranked gameplay (at this point, you will have most likely activated the 5-character Affinity effect of the Psychicore);
  1. Mid Game: Develop two 5-character Affinity teams so you have two fully-fledged teams to better deal with different battle scenarios;
  1. Mid-late Game: Develop three 5-character Affinity teams to deal with Team Arena, Pillar of Trial, and other gameplay with faction restrictions;
  1. Late Game: Develop more 5-character Affinity teams to make your lineup more diverse and compete for higher rankings in Otherworld exploration and Chaos Shadows gameplay.
Notes
  1. It's crucial to carefully decide which two teams to prioritize for early development based on the heroes you've unlocked!
  1. Early on, try to ensure that the 5 to 8 heroes you're developing can cover the roles of front-line, damage, survival, and control (especially damage reduction). They should also be able to counter most dungeon mechanics (like shield breaking, healing prohibition, and debuff dispelling).
[Early-Game Hero Recommendations]

There are many DPS heroes for you to choose from, and you can try new builds as well. Therefore, the focus of our recommendations will be on defensive and support heroes.
During the early game, PvE gameplay takes up a larger proportion, and some modes that are more similar to PvP gameplay (such as the Pillar of Trial) are not available yet or are not still too difficult (like the Fey Meander). Therefore, heroes who are more dominant in boss battles are worth prioritizing for development:
(In layman's terms, prioritize the development of heroes that can inflict debuffs or counter specific mechanics. As for control heroes, they can be developed later.)
