Hi everyone, Squid here. Today, I'll share how I managed to deal 15M in damage against Malinus on difficulty III. I. About Rules and the Boss
1. Event Rules

The 3 images above sum up the rules of this event. Here's a breakdown for you:
①Malinus comes in 4 difficulty levels. Before you can unlock the next difficulty, you'll have to deal enough damage in the previous difficulty. Also, your player character must be high enough. When fighting Malinus on difficulty III and difficulty IV, there is a special rule as you can get buffs that improve your damage output and survivability. This special rule rotates every week.
②By fighting Malinus on each difficulty, you can claim rewards based on how much damage you deal. A higher difficulty level yields better rewards.
③You can record your damage dealt only once per day. Once you've recorded it, you can claim rewards. Even after you've recorded the damage dealt, you can continue to fight the boss. 2. Boss Skill

See the image above for the boss skills: Skill #1: Deals Lightning Damage to all enemies. Skill #2: Deals massive Lightning Damage to the enemy with the highest HP. Also, deals bonus damage based on the Max HP of that enemy. Skill #3: Deals Lightning Damage to all enemies. Skill #4: Deals Lightning Damage to all enemies and gains a stackable buff. With each stack, this boss deals 5% more overall damage. The buff lasts until the battle is over, and it cannot be blocked or dispelled. At 150 buff stacks, the boss ignores Immortality and Invincibility and gains Resurrection Block. Skill #5: Becomes immune to control effects and Ultimate Down. II. Configuration, Lineup Recommendations, and Positioning
Given the boss skills mentioned above, we'll have to build our lineup around them to achieve the damage milestone. Here are some of my suggestions:
1. Your tank should have the ability to provide AoE healing and increase the DEF of multiple allies to share the burden of your healer. 2. It's best to have 3 DPS heroes since our goal is to deal 15M damage. The longer the fight lasts, the more buffs the boss will stack, which will put you at a disadvantage. 3. It's best that your support hero can provide Shield to all allies, increase the DEF of all allies, or heal all allies to ensure survivability. Based on the factors mentioned above, I put together 4 lineups, each associated with a different faction. See below for details:
①Ice Blast

See below for the positioning and final result:

Regarding the Aura, you can go with Garius' universal DEF boost. With enough attributes, you should be able to pass the stage while going AFK. It's paramount that your DPS heroes have more than 3,500 ATK and more than 150% Crit Damage.
②Wild

See below for the positioning and final damage output:

Regarding the Aura, let's go with Casper's universal 30% ATK boost. The reason we are choosing Wild over Burn here is because the boss has 180 Resistance, so you'll need at least 200 Accuracy to effectively inflict DoT on the boss. While you have limited equipment to spare, it's a better idea to go with the more cost-effective Wild Aura. ③ Lightning

See below for the positioning and final damage output:

Regarding the Aura, we can go with Nastjenka's universal 30% ATK boost. With this lineup, you should be able to go AFK and still pass the stage. Nastjenka alone takes up 50% of the team's overall damage output. ④Poison
See below for the positioning and final damage output:

Regarding the Aura, we can use Garian's AoE Enlightenment boost. This lineup also enables you to pass the stage while going AFK. In the end, you'll be left with only a tank and a DPS hero. Compared to the other lineups that deal direct damage, a Poison lineup can struggle a bit in a situation like this. III. Summary
It's somewhat challenging to deal maximum damage to Malinus on difficulty III. This event will put players to the test and see how they can put together a great team with limited resources, maximizing both survivability and damage output in the process. I personally recommend that you get your heroes to Lv.100 and equip them with +20 legendary equipment before you take on this challenge. Of course, it is possible to put together the most powerful heroes of various factions to achieve that 15M damage milestone, but I'd like to showcase the strength of each faction, so... Alright. That's about it for this guide. I'll see you next time! |
