Main Damage Dealer Development Guide: Shadow

时间:2024-03-26 16:18:17  来源:  作者:
Hello everyone, I'm Squid! The new season of Adenthia introduces 3 new build types: Aura, Corrosion, and Shadow, along with 15 new Legendary heroes. I will walk you through step-by-step on how to develop your main damage dealers for this season. I will be focusing on [Shadow] characters while also covering the following:
1. Introduction to new mechanics and hero skills.
2. Team strategies and equipment setups, broken down into high, medium, and mid-to-low configurations.
3. In-game demonstration, including stage progression and boss battles.
4. A summary of the above 3 parts.

I. New Mechanics and Hero Skills

1. New Mechanics - Shadow Energy

Two points to note here:
① Shadow heroes' ultimate skills no longer consume Ultimate Energy but instead cost [Shadow Energy].
② Shadow Energy doesn’t increase over time. It's mainly gained based on the number of enemies affected by the Shadow hero's battle skill or from other Shadow heroes' ultimate skills.

2. Hero Skills

From the above skill descriptions for the Shadow heroes, we can gather the following information:
① Ozul is the main damage dealer among the [Shadow] heroes. As for the other two Legendary heroes, Daphne leans toward support, while Aspalta is less reliant on the Shadow system and boasts a powerful ATK Aura that's useful in any scenario.
② [Shadow] heroes excel in "boss paired with minions" situations, where more enemies mean faster Shadow Energy accumulation.
③ Ozul's aura is only usable in the arena, hinting that Ozul—and by extension, Shadow heroes in general—is particularly suited for PvP.
④ In prolonged battles, reliance on Ozul's Host Imprint buff is high among [Shadow] heroes. For short skirmishes, like stage clearing or low-level boss fights, Aspalta's Heart of Haste buff works better.
⑤ When using Ozul as the main hero, the core strategy involves using additional Shadow Energy provided by other [Shadow] heroes to extend Ozul's transformation as long as possible, ideally without any downtime after the first transformation.

For accuracy, I'll test the damage output of the 3 heroes against training dummies at camp under the following conditions:
① Hero level at Lv.50.
② Inspiration is 0.
③ Testing against a group target (5 dummies).
④ No food or equipment used.
⑤ Dummies at Lv.50, with a fixed test duration of 3 minutes.

The results are illustrated below:

The data supports my earlier hypothesis. Under the same conditions, the other two Legendary Shadow heroes dealt half the damage of Ozul, which I believe is no coincidence. During the battle, it's observed that Daphne enters an [Invincible] state during her ultimate skill, offering a highly strategic and powerful advantage. This not only boosts the front-row's damage output and survivability but also ensures her own safety.

Moreover, I've tested the duration of Ozul's ultimate skill. Among the Shadow heroes, the following 3 can provide additional [Shadow Energy] to their Shadow allies:

Tests were conducted on single and 5 targets with:
① Ozul, Daphne, and Aspalta present.
② Ozul and Taldie present.
The results of the first test group are as follows:

With a single target and Ozul, Daphne, and Aspalta present, the first transformation occurred 15 seconds after combat began, lasting an average of 37 seconds. The second transformation happened at 63 seconds, with a downtime of 10-11 seconds.

The results of the second test group are as follows:

In multi-target scenarios, with Ozul, Daphne, and Aspalta all present, Ozul will transform 15 seconds after combat begins. The first transformation lasts an average of 113 seconds, with a downtime of approximately 10-15 seconds.

The results of the third test group are as follows:

Based on the test results, we can see that even in a single target situation, the additional [Shadow Energy] provided by Taldie alone can keep Ozul's ultimate skill active throughout the battle, not to mention in multi-target combat.

These tests help identify suitable partners for Ozul during the game's early stages, where resource acquisition efficiency is low. Though Ozul appears as a ranged damage dealer, his transformed state serves well as a front-row off-tank. Extending his transformation time helps accelerate early-game progress.

II. Team Strategies and Equipment Setups

1. Team Strategies

Early explorations and progression often present challenges such as:
① Slow resource acquisition, which makes it impossible to develop multiple main heroes simultaneously.
② Slow stage progression due to poorly built lineups, such as weak AOE capabilities or front-row tanks with insufficient damage absorption.
③ Slow dungeon progression, such as when clearing Goblin Lairs or tackling the 3 Elemental Domain bosses and 3 equipment acquisition dungeon bosses. This can significantly slow down your overall progress.

Completing daily quests and using up your daily allotment of 150 Stamina to farm resources from dungeons, like EXP and equipment, are essential ways to gain resources in the early game. To address these issues, try the following strategies:
Build an effective lineup: In the early game, when the survival of your team is at stake, it's advisable to structure your team with either 1 tank, 2 supports, and 2 damage dealers, or 2 tanks, 2 damage dealers, and 1 support. And depending on the number of monsters on the field, deploy characters with strong AOE and Control abilities.
It's advisable to invest resources in your front-row tanks at first since they form the bedrock of your team. If the tanks cannot sustain damage long enough for the rest of the team to cast their ultimate skills, it means not enough resources have been invested in them.

2. Team Building

I'll provide detailed lineup builds centered around Ozul, including equipment and attributes. I'll be focusing on heroes up to Lv.50 for both general stage progression and boss fights. These lineups range from low to high configurations. Before that, let me recommend a few Artifacts for early-game stage progression and boss fights, focusing on Ozul.

Test Results:

Early game Artifact recommendations:

Mid-to-Low Lineup:

Recommended lineup for clearing stages:

Alternative heroes for boss fights:

In boss fights, a lineup made up of 1 tank, 1 support, and 3 damage dealers may face survival challenges. Swapping a damage dealer for an extra tank or support can enhance the team's survivability.

Medium Lineup:

Recommended lineup for clearing stages:
You can replace the corresponding roles in the mid-to-low lineup with the following heroes:

Alternative heroes for boss fights:
In the lineup for clearing stages, you can replace corresponding roles with the following heroes:

The medium lineup prioritizes steady Control when clearing stages. Use Silence, Stun, and ATK reduction to weaken the enemy, and you'll win effortlessly.

High Lineup:

Recommended lineup for clearing stages:
You can replace the damage dealers and tanks mentioned above with the following heroes:

Alternative heroes for boss fights:
Tamar and Aspalta can be swapped out for medium lineup members Nathaniel and Torrin:

The strategy of a high lineup focuses on protecting Ozul. Make sure Ozul can maximize damage output during transformation, even if it costs all the tanks.

III. In-Game Demonstration

In the demonstration, I'll use a mid-to-low lineup to demonstrate specific positioning and skill timing. Note that the lineup can be slightly adjusted the based on the battle scenario.

1. Stage Progressing

The map we have chosen is the Lv.60 Field of Burrows, as shown below:

Here's the lineup and equipment I use:

First battle:

Here's the positioning:

Second battle:

Here's the positioning:

Final elite battle:

Here's the positioning:

Due to the high difficulty of this elite monster battle and the monster's ability to inflict debuffs, I replace one front-row damage dealer with a tank as shown below:

Positioning the main tank and damage dealers on the same side is crucial for quickly eliminating minions at the start of the battle, which eases the survival pressure on the tank. Once the minions are cleared, the battle becomes a lot easier. Ozul's ultimate skill transformation lasts the entire battle, sharing some of the damage burden with the tank.

Recommended Aura: 18% AOE HP boost.
Recommended Buffing Food: Food that adds DEF.
Recommended Map Blessing: AOE HP Restoration Lv.2.

2. Lv.50 Flame Domain

Since we are challenging the Lv.50 Tempest Domain, we temporarily remove the Artifacts and swap out one of the tanks, with the following positioning:

Fitz remains on the field to absorb the Burn DoT from the boss. Sallyanne's ultimate skill can reduce enemy ATK, thus making the battle easier. Meggan's ultimate skill can be saved for the moment before the boss casts the ultimate skill. There's a Lv.1 DEF increase that can be used.

Recommended Aura: 24% AOE HP boost.
Recommended Buffing Food: Food that adds DEF.

3. Lv.75 Grave of Venom

In this boss battle, we replace the two tanks from the previous lineup with the following heroes:

Here's the positioning:

The strategy is similar to the elite monster battle mentioned earlier: place all heroes on one side to quickly clear the Poison units on the field to prevent casualties. Ozul also maintains his transformation state throughout. He takes on the role of the off-tank after the main tank's death to absorb the final damage while contributing 58.6% of the total damage output—proving he could both tank and deal damage.

IV. Summary

Compared to the [Summoner] branch of the [Necrosis] build, the Shadow team has the advantage of not being dependent on terrain when clearing stages. The [Summoner] team heavily relies on summoned creatures for damage output in the early game. However, overcrowding can happen if there are too many summoned creatures on the field, leading to a situation where the creatures block each other, reducing overall damage output. This crowding issue is inevitable when clearing stages in the early game. However, compared to the [Shadow] team, the [Summoner] team doesn’t overly rely on equipment in the early game, and summoned creatures can, to some extent, be treated as expendable assets to absorb single-target damage from bosses.

The [Shadow] team performs above average in the early game but really hits its stride when Daphne and Ozul are both present. This is because Daphne can increase Ozul's ATK, Lifesteal, and Shadow Energy. By mid-game, once Ozul reaches certain attack speed and ATK thresholds, it might even be possible to run a lineup without a tank.

That concludes our main hero development guide for now. Stay tuned for my upcoming guides on Dragonheir!
