Otherworld Exploration Final Fight - Mekkatorque Single Day 140M Damage Guide

时间:2024-03-07 11:47:49  来源:  作者:
Hello, everyone. This is SQUID . Today, I'll be talking about how to defeat the final boss in the Otherworld Exploration event—Mekkatorque
This guide will be split into 4 parts:
1. The event rules and rewards.
2. Mekkatorque's skills and how to counter this enemy.
3. My recommended team lineups and how to tackle Mekkatorque.
4. Summary.

I. Event Rules and Rewards

1. Event Rules

There are a few things to keep in mind here:
① In the Mekkatorque event, each hero is available only one time per day (when you press the SAVE button after the challenge is over, your hero selections are locked in).
② Every day, you can fight Mekkatorque 6 times, and rewards are determined based on the damage you deal to Mekkatorque.
③ All players on the server will receive rewards after Mekkatorque has taken enough damage, but Mekkatorque also becomes more powerful once this boss's HP drops below 50% (i.e., the server-wide damage dealt to this boss has reached 50%).
④ After Mekkatorque is defeated (i.e., the server-wide damage dealt to this boss has reached 100%), the Otherworld Exploration event will be settled, and players will receive their rewards.

2. Event Rewards

① Server-wide Damage Dealt Rewards

② Ranking Tier Rewards

③ Daily Damage Rewards

There are 3 things to know:
① For every 20% damage dealt to Mekkatorque across the whole server, you get to claim a progress treasure chest.
② When results are settled, rewards are distributed based on players' rankings. For details, please refer to the image above.
③ There are 5 daily damage milestones for players, ranging from 500K to 140M.

2. Mekkatorque'S Skills and How to Counter This Enemy

1. About Mekkatorque's Skills

There are 7 things to keep in mind:
① Mekkatorque is at level 250 with 300 Resistance, so your heroes must have 320 Accuracy to inflict control effects or other debuffs on this boss.
② Mekkatorque's damaging skills all deal AoE damage, and none of your heroes can escape.
③ The minions summoned by Mekkatorque in combat will automatically fill your side of the field, so it can be difficult to reposition your heroes.
④ Mekkatorque's 4th skill swipes from left to right, and its damage drops with every subsequent hero hit.
⑤ Mekkatorque takes extra damage based on the debuffs inflicted on this boss. This effect is permanent.
⑥ Mekkatorque is immune to all control effects and Ultimate Down, but the control effects (Charmed, Fear, and Blind) will be converted to Thwarted Transmission, reducing Mekkatorque's damage dealt.
⑦ Every time Mekkatorque uses a skill, it gains a stack of Overheated buff—every 10 seconds, deals damage to all player heroes; the damage scales with the number of stacks.

Considering the above, I've come up with the below countering method:
① The battle lasts long (8 minutes), so Mekkatorque can have up to over 80 stacks of Overheated if the battle drags on too long, which can lead to massive AoE damage, so some of your heroes must have the ability to reduce damage (e.g., Shield Boost, AoE DEF Boost).
② The minions summoned by Mekkatorque, if not eliminated swiftly, will start dealing damage and inflicting the Recharge Efficiency Reduction buff on your heroes, so you can consider deploying heroes with AoE abilities.
From left to right, you should place your heroes from those with the highest DEF to the lowest. This way, you can mitigate the incoming damage from Mekkatorque's Swipe skill.
④ Place heroes who can inflict control effects (Charmed, Fear, and Blind) on the field to reduce the overall damage dealt by Mekkatorque to your heroes over a protracted battle.

III. My Recommended Team Lineups and How to Tackle Mekkatorque

Due to the long duration of this fight, I highly recommend the Artifacts below as they can help your team dish out more damage per second and boost your team's survivability.

Here are the lineups I recommend:

①Ice Blast

Optional characters:

Here's the positioning:

After the battle begins, Mekkatorque will summon minions in a 3x2 area, taking over a part of the battlefield, so your heroes actually only have a space of 12 tiles (3x4) to move around. It's worth mentioning that I placed my tank and support hero on the left side of the battlefield while all DPS heroes were on the right side. The main DPS Beldelle is also on the right. Thaeans Beldelle will take the least damage from the boss's swiping attack, ensuring that she can stick to the battlefield for the longest and deal as much damage as possible to Mekkatorque.
This team can inflict 2 stacks of Misstep, which reduces ATK and DEF, making Mekkatorque take 20% more damage. You can see that the final damage is nearly 150M, so this team alone can complete the highest daily damage milestone. The only hero that died before the timer ran out was Shinnah.

Recommended Aura: AoE Crit Damage Up 30%

②Poison

Optional characters:

Here's the positioning:

Similarly, we should place the tank and the support on the left-most side while the main DPS, Durango and Twitch, are protected on the right side. However, if we look at the bigger picture, we'll realize that the support hero Stegamoffyn actually deals pretty much the same amount of damage as Durango, and Stegamoffyn alone can inflict 6 unique debuffs, which equals 6 stacks of Misstep. The ultimate damage is nearly 55M, and it took me 6.5 minutes, so on average it is 8.46M damage per minute.

Recommended Aura: AoE ATK Up 30%

③Burn

Optional characters:

Here's the positioning:

This Burn build can easily clear out the minions summoned by Mekkatorque, preventing them from disrupting our back-row heroes from charging their ultimate skills. But there is one problem: you will have to sometimes manually use the ultimate skills of Huldork and Elminster to attack the minions because there aren't necessarily minions present when their ultimate skills are ready.
The team's main DPS is hands down Aschetius, who singlehandedly takes up 61.3% of the team's total damage output, but if you don't have Karf fighting alongside him, Aschetius will deal a lot less damage because his ultimate skill can only deal burst damage if there are enough stacks of Burn DoT. Additionally, Elminster, who can substitute Adolphus, is an excellent support who, though not capable of dealing a lot of damage, has great survivability. In this battle, I dealt a total of 125.57M damage and used up all the time I had. On average, that is 15.69M damage per minute.

④Thunderbolt

The tank we use is the same as that of the Poison build—Frurbath.

As for the support and DPS heroes, we change them to below:

Here's the positioning:

This team is about using Zeffi and Oggok to create an Invincibility build and protract the battle as much as you can. When the battle has 4 minutes remaining, you should try to manually use the ultimate skills of Zeffi and Oggok so they aren't used at the same time, and the effect's uptime becomes longer. Also, starting from the 4-minute mark in combat, before Mekkatorque's 5th skill—Energy Pulse Wave—is used, either Zeffi or Oggok should use an ultimate skill. Otherwise, you face the risk of losing DPS heroes. The overall damage output is 47M, so that's 5.88M damage per minute.

Recommended Aura: AoE Enlightenment Up 60

IV. Summary

Among the Ice Blast, Poison, Burn, and Thunderbolt builds, Ice Blast undoubtedly has the highest damage output. Given the current patch, the Ice Blast build also deals the highest damage overall in protracted battles where Beldelle alone can deal nearly 110M damage, which is thanks to the other 2 heroes supplying Beldelle with Ice Crystals so that she can constantly use her battle skill and raise the damage potential.
The Burn build is not bad, either, with damage output very close to that of the Ice Blast build, but the damage can be exaggerated a bit because the skills of Aschetius, Karf, and Huldork also attack the minions summoned by Mekkatorque. That means the single-target damage potential is weaker than that of the Ice Blast build.
The main character of the Poison build is actually Stegamoffyn, who can singlehandedly provide a great ATK Aura while also giving 6 stacks of Misstep to Mekkatorque. Without Stegamoffyn, you'll struggle in combat no matter how powerful the other characters are.
As for the Thunderbolt build, it all comes down to strategies. You'll rely on Zeffi and Oggok to make an Invincibility build and stall the fight as long as possible, but its average damage and overall damage are both the lowest among all the four builds. That's because there are now 2 support heroes and 1 less DPS hero. But the tricky part is if you remove one of these two support heroes, the Invincibility strategy won't work, so I made my choice.

That's about this for this Otherworld Exploration journey. I will be bringing you more guides on the weekly dungeons in Dragonheir, so stay tuned!
